A training programme on Bee Keeping was organized at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, ICAR – CPCRI, Kasaragod in collaboration with Horticorp, Thiruvananthapuram and Kasaragod Rural Development Society on 29.07.2015.
The programme was inaugurated by Dr. P.Chowdappa, Director, CPCRI and in the inaugural address, the multiple benefits of establishing bee colonies in crop gardens was highlighted and the participants were appreciated for coming forward to get equipped with the skill of bee keeping.
This training programme on vocational mode would be of 12 days duration @ of one day per month imparting the skills on various components of bee keeping technology at appropriate time by way of theoretical orientation and practical demonstrations.
Sri. Charlie Mathew, President, KRDS and Sri.Roy Mathew, Secretary offered felicitations for the programme and provided guidance on management of bee colonies during rainy season.
A total of 62 trainees comprising rural youth, practicing farmers and farm women attended the programme. Dr. Manojkumar, Programme Coordinator, KVK welcomed the participants and Dr.S.Leena, Chief Technical Officer, KVK proposed vote of thanks.
