Agricultural Knowledge Management Unit (AKMU)

The Agricultural Knowledge Management Unit (AKMU) earlier named as the Agricultural Research Information System (ARIS) Cell started functioning in this Institute in the year 1977. The AKMU is connected to other buildings of the Institute through Optical Fibre Cabling (OFC).
Since its inception, AKMU has imparted basic computer training to the Technical, Administrative and Supporting staff of CPCRI HQ and Regional Stations.
At present AKMU is provided with the 1Gbps National Knowledge Network (NKN) connectivity which is shared through proxy server by all divisions/sections of the Institute.( www.nkn.in). The entry point is connected to the Cyber Security unit ZyWall 35, which also acts as proxy server.
AKMU also houses the IBM Blade Server meant for Office Automation.
AKMU facilitates the maintenance of the Local Area Network (LAN) of the Institute and ensures uninterrupted net connectivity to all divisions/sections. The repair and maintenance of Computers, Printers and accessories of various divisions/sections is facilitated through AKMU.
The Personnel Management Information System Network – II (PERMISnet II) data is updated from the AKMU.
